Mark S. Coleman is a senior broadcast and streaming operations executive with more than 30 years of experience building, scaling, and leading the infrastructure behind some of the most recognized content platforms in the industry. He has held executive roles at Spectrum Networks, NBC Universal, Comcast, Golf Channel, and Fox Corporation — consistently the leader who translates technical capability into operational reality at enterprise scale.
Most notably, he architected Spectrum Networks' expansion from a single regional network to a 16-network operation, oversaw the construction of the NBC Sports cornerstone facility in Stamford, CT, and executed a full conversion to SMPTE ST 2110 IP with zero downtime.
Recognized with 17 Emmy Awards including a Technical Emmy for co-developing the Dreamcatcher replay system with Evertz. First to lead live major sporting events in 1080P HDR with the Lakers and Dodgers.
A career defined by taking operationally complex media environments and building the frameworks, teams, and technology infrastructure to perform at the highest level — at scale, without failure.
Designed and executed a phased expansion strategy addressing every dimension of network scaling simultaneously — facility construction, equipment procurement, vendor partnerships, staff recruitment, and operational process development. Successfully scaled from a single network to a 16-network operation with full technical capability and continuous 24/7 operations, establishing the organization as a recognized center of excellence within Charter Communications.
Enterprise ScalingIntervened with just 48 hours before contracts were to be awarded on a fundamentally flawed facility design. Conducted a full evaluation, engaged new vendors, and delivered a completely new conceptual design and budget — all within 48 hours under significant institutional pressure. The facility became Spectrum's center of excellence.
Crisis LeadershipExecuted a full facility conversion to SMPTE ST 2110 IP infrastructure across a live 16-network operation with zero downtime — one of the most technically demanding broadcast infrastructure transitions in the industry. The new infrastructure positioned Spectrum Networks with a modern, scalable, IP-based foundation.
Infrastructure InnovationLed the full lifecycle of the NBC Sports Stamford facility — from site acquisition and architectural design through construction oversight and operational commissioning — while simultaneously managing the NBC Universal and Comcast integration. The facility became the operational cornerstone of NBC Sports.
Facility DevelopmentMaintained full 24/7 operational continuity across all 16 Spectrum Networks throughout the pandemic without a single network going dark — while simultaneously positioning the facility as a remote production hub for NBA games. A testament to the operational resilience that defines mission-critical content delivery.
